@feditips@mstdn.social Yea, official app for Android is slow and ugly. Tusky works perfectly.

@feditips@mstdn.social Tusky is my undoubted favourite https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.keylesspalace.tusky

@feditips@mstdn.social I must say, I really like the clean official android app. Only when I need to bookmark stuff, i switch to Tusky. I hope that feature will be built in the official app as well.

@feditips@mstdn.social Tusky on Android works very well. Question: how do I turn on notifications? Didn't see those, I have to do it manually.

@IrwinFletcher0@mstdn.social 2022-11-19 19:07
@feditips@mstdn.social I tried Metatext and liked it, but I actually think the official app is faster and smoother.

@feditips@mstdn.social how can I move to a new server? Do I need to make a new account?

@zhenboli@fediscience.org 2022-11-19 19:10
@feditips@mstdn.social I think it worth mentioning @sengi_app@mastodon.social Sengi is a nice desktop client. It's quite convenient if one has multiple Mastodon accounts.

@feditips@mstdn.social I downloaded tusky but I don't know what an 'instance' is for login. Can someone please assist me

@feditips@mstdn.social On my iPhone, I get the best results by navigating to my account in Safari, then saving a bookmark to my home screen. I launch into Mastodon from there. It basically acts like a full(er)-featured app. More functions than any of the iPhone apps you mentioned.

@feditips@mstdn.social @feditips@mstdn.social I'm using Husky on android and it seems pretty good. Also just insalled Whalebird on my PC and it's pretty neat! but I didn't realize a web browser would give just as good of an experience. I'm enjoying trying all of these!
-
@JJKrawczyk@mastodon.social 2022-11-19 19:18
@feditips@mstdn.social On metatext one (out of three) of my accounts has a check mark next to it if I look at the account list. Any idea what that means?

@feditips@mstdn.social great list! Metatext is pretty solid, but I wish it supported hashtag following and list editing - features Iβve only found in the web app so far. Is there any iOS app that supports these features?
-
@old_hippie@masto.ai 2022-11-19 19:20
@feditips@mstdn.social I tried Tusky and the official mastodon app. Didn't like either. I'm using the web app and like it a lot.

@ImaBMe@mastodon.world 2022-11-19 19:48
. @feditips@mstdn.social : Actually, the mobile experience of just browsing to your server website (via your smartphone browser) is excellent. I'd recommend mobile users try: enable "advanced web interface" in Profile settings. Segment Followers with Lists, as desired. Then pin your go-to List, Hashtag, or Home as first column. Makes reading more manageable.

@ninoles@hachyderm.io 2022-11-19 19:54
@feditips@mstdn.social Need to try Tusky and Fedilab, but I actually love the mobile mode of the website (well, at least the one from my server). I basically made it an app on my pixel. I think it's worth trying it at least.
