I have had to explain to a particularly cantankerous project manager who I have recently secured a new project for (and ongoing employment for a year) that while he objects to sending information to his client early about how heavy all of our stuff is going to be before we build it it’s achievable. The project is a replica of one he’s just done, so we already know within an acceptable margin for error how heavy it is. His client are building a big floaty thing and need to know how heavy all the stuff in said floaty thing will be - if there is too much new stuff it will no longer be a floaty thing :( They probably want a floaty thing after paying a few billion for one so it’s really only polite to help the naval architects out a little. This is my second explanation of this situation and he’s still mad about it.
