If your route takes you through Paris, please ignore the ticket costs for the transfer there, but minimum connection times between Paris terminals must be respected. In the absence of a complete price, explain how you would go about finding the cheapest price, and when you would book it, and provide prices for parts of the journey you can book. If all else is equal, the fastest journey will win.

Ok. As many of you have by now realised, booking a ticket that far in advance is, well, not really possible. Different operators use different booking horizons, which means some legs might already be available and selling quickly while others don't even have their schedules confirmed – a problem if you want to make sure you can get to that winter ski getaway or rented beach house! But here’s the real problem…
