For the first time in a while, nobody on Reddit has accused one of my long effort posts of sounding like AI. My secret? I took my normal writing style—the one you’re reading right now—and told ChatGPT to make it sound like a Redditor. Lowercase. Apostrophes ripped out. Barely any punctuation. Short paragraphs. Simple words. No polish. Nothing too clean. And suddenly I’m more “authentic.” Which is funny as hell because I’m clearly not. Apparently, sounding human now means making the writing shittier on purpose. But congratulations. Less “slop.”

@atomicpoet@atomicpoet.org even before AI there was TL;DR culture (where folk whinged about overly "long" posts, even when they contained valid detail), especially when folk insist on using small screen devices for all their "social" communication rather than full size computers. At least its not so bad on places like specialist forums where someone is posting a how-to guide about a subject where its important you get everything exactly right (like building electronics or car maintenance)
