@saramg@fosstodon.org Asking as a total simpleton. Does it mean that the start menu is sort of a web application that runs in a browser? I know nothing about React Native save for the fact that it exists, but the Native in it made me feel like it would use React DSL but compile into a native application which would avoid the browser overhead.

@loathsome_dongeater@toots.matapacos.dog no, there's no browser involved, react native serves as an abstraction on top of windows apis. But it does mean that there is a javascript runtime involved, compared to compiled C# code @saramg@fosstodon.org
