Windows - "I Just want my computer to work" = "I don't want the BS software I have to use for my job to be even harder to use than it already is"
MacOS - "I Just want my computer to work" = "I want it to be basically impossible to break my OS and for the defaults and preinstalled software to be good enough that I don't need to tinker"
NixOS - "I Just want my computer to work" = "I want to make it so that once I'm done setting things up, I can always get back to this point, even on a different computer"
Ubuntu - "I Just want my computer to work" = "I want something that's stable, relatively easy to use, and that I can expect a lot of corporate software to still work on"
Arch - "I Just want my computer to work" = "I want to be able to make my computer work exactly the way I want it to work"
Or at least that's my interpretation of what that means for each OS/what the main advantages of each are

@november@chaosfem.tw these are probably approximately the main selling points of each OS but I have generally found _users_ of each OS to vary wildly in terms of what's important to them, what's not, and what problems they're trying to solve
