Seems to have worked out, though I didn't check FLauncher's accessibility. AI says it's not so good because it's in flutter, but don't know how true that is. I had one small issue, where Youtube and tubie of all things didn't show up on the home screen but claude quickly fixed it. Here is my prompt. GO forth, and edit it for your own tv! I want you to clean up and optimize my 2022 Hisense Google TV over ADB. The goals are: * Remove or reduce advertising and recommendation clutter. * Disable factory apps and services I do not use. * Reduce unnecessary background RAM usage. * Make the interface faster and more responsive. * Reduce animation delays. * Keep HDMI, HDMI-CEC, TV inputs, remote control, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, audio, accessibility, casting, and streaming and normal TV functionality completely working. Run the commands yourself and explain what you are doing in plain language as you go. MY TV Manufacturer: Hisense Year: 2022 Exact model: UNKNOWN. Determine this through ADB before making any changes. Operating system: Google TV / Android TV TV IP address: 192.168.1.76 IMPORTANT ACCESSIBILITY REQUIREMENT I am blind and depend on accessibility features. DO NOT disable, uninstall, modify or interfere with: * TalkBack * Android Accessibility Suite * screen reader services * text-to-speech engines * accessibility framework services * accessibility settings * Google speech services when they are required for accessibility * any Hisense accessibility service Before disabling any package associated with accessibility, stop and ask me. GENERAL SAFETY RULES 1. DO NOT UNINSTALL ANYTHING. Use only reversible commands such as: pm disable-user --user 0 PACKAGE Changes must be reversible with: pm enable PACKAGE Do not use: pm uninstall pm uninstall --user rm root commands 2. Do not root the TV. Do not unlock the bootloader. Do not flash firmware, ROMs, recoveries or modified system images. 3. IDENTIFY THE TV FIRST. Before making any changes, collect: adb shell getprop ro.product.manufacturer adb shell getprop ro.product.brand adb shell getprop ro.product.model adb shell getprop ro.product.device adb shell getprop ro.product.name adb shell getprop ro.build.version.release adb shell getprop ro.build.version.sdk adb shell getprop ro.build.fingerprint Show me the results. Determine the exact Hisense model and Android/Google TV version before continuing. 4. THIS IS A HISENSE TV. Do not copy package recommendations made for TCL, Sony, Xiaomi, Nvidia Shield or other Android TV manufacturers. In particular, package names beginning with com.tcl in generic debloat guides are irrelevant to this television. Discover the Hisense equivalents yourself. 5. MEASURE EVERYTHING BEFORE MAKING CHANGES. Create a folder on my computer called: tv-debloat Save the following before-state information there: adb shell dumpsys meminfo adb shell pm list packages adb shell pm list packages -s adb shell pm list packages -3 adb shell pm list packages -d adb shell dumpsys activity services adb shell dumpsys package Save enough information that we can compare the TV before and after optimization. 6. IDENTIFY CRITICAL HISENSE PACKAGES. Before disabling anything, identify packages responsible for: * Hisense TV platform services * television input framework * HDMI inputs * antenna/tuner input * HDMI-CEC * Inputs/Source menu * remote control * Bluetooth remote * remote pairing * power management * display control * audio * Wi-Fi * Ethernet * system settings * System UI * package installation * Google Play Services * Google Services Framework * Google Play Store * Google TV launcher * keyboard/input methods * accessibility * TalkBack * text-to-speech * Chromecast / Google Cast * DRM * Widevine * Netflix DRM integration Put these packages in an UNTOUCHABLE list. Do not disable them. 7. NEVER DISABLE CORE ANDROID SERVICES. This includes packages responsible for: * SystemUI * framework services * settings * permission controller * package installer * network stack * Bluetooth * Wi-Fi * Ethernet * input methods * TV input framework * media framework * DRM * Widevine * audio * display * power management * accessibility Never disable: com.google.android.gms com.google.android.gsf com.android.vending com.android.location.fused Do not disable any package matching or providing an input method. Do not disable TalkBack or Android Accessibility Suite. Do not disable the existing launcher until an alternative launcher has been installed, opened, tested and confirmed working. 8. INVESTIGATE UNKNOWN PACKAGES. For every Hisense package you are considering disabling, determine what it actually does. Use: adb shell dumpsys package PACKAGE and other appropriate read-only ADB commands. Do not assume that a strangely named Hisense package is bloatware. If you cannot establish what a package does with reasonable confidence, leave it enabled. 9. CLASSIFY THE PACKAGES. Create three groups. GROUP 1: SAFE BLOAT Examples may include: * unused promotional apps * unused streaming apps * demos * retail/demo-mode components * advertising components * recommendation services * unused screensavers * telemetry that is not required for normal operation * manufacturer promotional services Only put something here when you have established that disabling it should not affect normal TV operation. GROUP 2: ASK ME Examples: * Google Assistant * voice search * Chromecast * Live TV apps * media players * streaming applications * screensavers * content recommendation features * Hisense optional services Ask whether I use these before disabling them. GROUP 3: UNTOUCHABLE All critical Android, Google TV, Hisense television, accessibility, remote, HDMI, input, network, audio, video and DRM components go here. Show me all three groups before changing anything. 10. WORK IN SMALL BATCHES. Disable no more than 5 packages at a time. After every batch, STOP. Have me test: * TalkBack and accessibility * remote control * directional buttons * OK/select button * Back button * Home button * volume buttons * Inputs/Source button * HDMI switching * HDMI-CEC * sound * Wi-Fi * Bluetooth * on-screen keyboard * YouTube * Netflix * Google Play Store * TV settings Do not continue until I confirm that everything works. 11. KEEP A COMPLETE RECORD. Create: tv-debloat/disabled-packages.txt and: tv-debloat/DEBLOAT-LOG.md For every package disabled, record: * package name * application/service name * what it does * why it was disabled * exact disable command * exact command to restore it 12. IF SOMETHING BREAKS Immediately re-enable the entire most recent batch. Verify functionality again. Then investigate the packages individually. Do not continue disabling additional packages while something is broken. PERFORMANCE TUNING After the safe debloating stage, set Android animation scales to 0.5: adb shell settings put global window_animation_scale 0.5 adb shell settings put global transition_animation_scale 0.5 adb shell settings put global animator_duration_scale 0.5 Do not completely disable animations unless I specifically ask. Do not modify hidden Hisense picture-quality, panel-control, thermal, power-management or hardware calibration settings. CACHE CLEANUP Use Android-supported cache trimming where appropriate. Do not blindly delete directories from /data or /system. GOOGLE TV HOME SCREEN I may want to replace the Google TV launcher with FLauncher. Do this separately from the initial debloat. First: 1. Verify which launcher my Hisense currently uses. 2. Have me install FLauncher from the Play Store. 3. Verify the FLauncher package is installed. 4. Have me launch it at least once. 5. Confirm that TalkBack works properly inside FLauncher. 6. Confirm that I can launch Settings, YouTube, Netflix and other apps. 7. Determine the safest method for using FLauncher as the default home interface on this specific Hisense firmware. DO NOT disable the stock Google TV launcher until the replacement launcher has been thoroughly tested. Before changing the launcher, create and show me the exact recovery command that restores the original launcher. FINAL TEST Reboot the TV. After rebooting verify: * TV boots normally * TalkBack starts and works * Home screen works * remote works * Inputs/Source works * HDMI works * HDMI-CEC works * Wi-Fi works * Bluetooth works * audio works * keyboard works * Play Store works * Netflix works * YouTube works * Settings works Then collect the same measurements taken before optimization. Give me: 1. Exact detected Hisense model. 2. Android/Google TV version. 3. Before and after available RAM/memory comparison. 4. Complete list of disabled packages. 5. What each disabled package did. 6. Complete list of performance changes. 7. Exact command for undoing each change. 8. A restore script or command sequence that restores everything to the original configuration. Do not make assumptions about Hisense-specific packages. When uncertain, leave the package enabled.
