I despise people's opinions about how others "should" play a game. Doesn't matter which one. Fighting, rhythm, FPS, whatever. Why do you have this undying moral mission to dictate how someone else is allowed to play?
This all started because someone (not naming names) decided it was a great idea to announce that "fighting games should not be played with a keyboard."
Well, guess what?
I had no choice back then. Sometimes, I still don't.
When I got my first laptop, I could barely afford that, let alone a controller. It was an Intel i3 HP Notebook that could only limp through the most basic games. Even now, my slightly upgraded machine (Lenovo IdeaPad, specs are not important right now) still can't run AAA titles at decent settings. Add zero money for a real controller, and I was screwed before I even started. The Xbox controllers I did have weren't USB-compatible. They were Xbox-only, full stop. So keyboard it was. And keyboard it sometimes still is.
It's like telling someone they're climbing the stairs wrong because they're not using the elevator. Sure, the elevator's smoother. It's also not always there, not always working, and not always something everyone can afford to wait for. You take the stairs because they're what's in front of you, not because you're trying to make a statement.
Because keyboard is my playing style. It's what I've gotten used to. It's how I prefer to play.
So don't sit there acting high and mighty because you've decided keyboard play is "bullshit." Sit down and realize not everyone has that luxury.
