@mhoye@cosocial.ca Yeah I deal with this sometimes. People who presume I'm a smart cookie so why am I still using various corporate stuff? And my answer is usually because I want to just USE the tool and not manage and maintain the tool. I manage and maintain my own Wordpress instances (on other people's servers) and it's already a lot.

@jessamyn@glammr.us Yeah. Time is valuable and expertise is real, you know? I don't think it's at all unreasonable for people to say, I should pay people who know a lot about specific things full time for a living to handle those specific things for me, so that I can have the time to use the specific things I've got expertise in to do things like feed my family. I understand that redundance vs safety margins are a spectrum and a nuanced conversation, but society is a real thing that matters.
