There is a mayoral debate put on by the Toronto Star and the Toronto Regional Board of Trade on Citytv (and also YouTube) at 6 p.m. today. Mentioning this now so you can find literally anything else to do with your time. Take a nap, touch grass, read Moby Dick, take shrooms and float in a sensory deprivation tank for an hour, anything.

How well someone does or what someone says in a debate has absolutely no bearing on what they will actually do in office or how well they will do it. They are completely unrelated. The real hard work is getting stuff done behind the scenes and getting everyone on board before it even gets to Council. There is relatively little debate-style back-and-forth and if there is, it does not change anyone's minds. #TOcouncil #TOpoli
