I think I finally figured out why such a huge uptick lately in spam texts/calls wanting to buy my house (which is not on the market).
New house prices are insane. Young new homebuyers want older houses they might can afford, but hardly any are on the market because many of us (including me) locked in a great interest rate that we want to keep, so we’re not moving.
So I’m assuming these spammers are trying to buy up low cost/interest houses and turn them around to new buyers at higher rates?

Prior toot spawned by a cold call from someone who my spam filters didn’t block. Only left name and number. NOTHING as to why he was calling or who he was. Vaguely recognized name. I *think* it might be a realtor who I had an awful experience with in helping rent my old condo after I moved out when I got married. Ya, not calling him back. And if he happens to stumble upon my web site where I have these posts mirrored (or this actual profile on Mastodon) and sees this response—GOOD!
