Progress definitely has been made, for example, now AI can draw Lenin who looks like Lenin, while just two years ago, AI Lenin looked like this: Prompt for those was the famous poem by Langston Hughes.

there is valid reasons to use generative AI. Making stupid, low effort, but high quality memes is absolutely one. I also enjoy the YT channel that cranks out AI generated trailers to movie trailers. My favorite is still harry potter but in berlin. “One does not simply walk into the berghain” is just way too funny
