@MichaelPorter@ottawa.place It's Iron (II,III) oxide, Fe3O4 or FeO.Fe2O3. Plus, yeah, carbon black and plastics etc. Mixed with a little vegetable oil.
If anyone wants to try this at home be aware you don't want to go breathing toner dust in, a good mask is a good idea while making it. Also you need a neodymium magnet to get good results, which love to smash into things and shatter, so eye protection. And don't let them get close to medical devices like hearing aids, pacemakers or insulin pumps.
