there seems to be a single drawing acceleration the wd90c00 uses for area fill. gonna need to implement it. it should be relatively easy to locate and fix.

reading it, it appears that it supports an extended version of the ega work register and the supporting register set. brass tacks, setting the appropriate set/reset mask allows an 8 bit write to write the 4 bytes contained in the work register back to the vga. it can write the user's byte or write back bits from the contents of the work register depending on the input bits.
