today's work: faerie cottages ✨ all of my wee houses are made in the kurinuki technique, so carved from a single block of clay. the first day (yesterday, in this case), i shape the basic structure, separate the roof from the building and shape that, and roughly carve out the interior of the house. the second day, i refine all the shapes, carve the rest of the interior, cut out windows and doors, carve the roof, and carve the flowers and plants on the walls. now, they dry (possibly with a smidge more tidying up tomorrow)! the clay becomes lighter in colour as it dries and white after firing. and the more square house has a wee crescent moon window on its side 🌙 #art #mastoArt #ceramics
