When I pushed back, I think many felt attacked and felt the need to state their disgust and unwillingness to buy from Frameworks. None of which was the topic of the discussion. The point is, again: falsely claiming that a company financially supports a neo-nazi is, IMO, really bad behavior, regardless of what other bad things the company is doing. Since we're not on Twitter, can we please have an adult conversation that's able to discuss things in their merit without feeling attacked? [2/2]

@niccolove Children will grow; give them time. Bitten by life's experiences, youngsters will become adults. This is the problem with the overly embraced concept of "safe spaces"; they are too safe to allow youngsters to grow.

  • @niccolove as far ad I'm aware there are two instances of framework sending financial support to DHH. Directly by sending him some hardware¹ for free and indirectly by financing his conference² that he created so he could control ruby better³. Admittedly no direct money was sent to him. What I find more disturbing is the free advertising they did to support his stupid archlinux derivate. 1. I saw some tweets about this, might be wrong. If so apologies. 2. https://frame.work/de/en/blog/framework-sponsorships 3. https://thelibre.news/lets-talk-about-dhh/ I trust you on this one. Tell me if I interpreted what you reported wrongly.

@niccolove hm. Does it really matter if they send money, hardware or good words to the guys project? Is it really worth to have another discussion about this topic? I thought everything was said with the "big tent" statement and the nazi-bar analogy.

@niccolove You are making distinctions without a difference. It's a nazi bar. You are trying to tell people to use broken ass search to find stuff we all experienced a couple months ago in realtime. Either you are cool with a company that promoted a nazi, and refused to back down, or you aren't. I would have guessed you were not based on your DHH video, but it seems I'm wrong since you are trying to catch people on what you think is a technicality.

@niccolove Is your contention that they didn't financially support Omarchy, they just endorsed Omarchy again and again and doubled down when they received push-back? Or are you arguing that supporting Omarchy (which is unequivocally DHH's project) is not the same as supporting DHH himself? Or are you making the point that DHH is not a neo nazi, he's some different kind of fascist? Or am I missing something here?
