My partner, a scout leader, has what they refer to as “the Lost Child Torch”. It turns out said torch is powerful enough to get a pretty decent white-light Young’s Double Slit pattern without too much faffing around!

It also turns out that faffing around with microscope slides and aquadag is enormously messy and fiddly; honestly it's worth spending £15 to buy a well-made double-slit slide. The single slit in front of the torch you can do with tinfoil and a Stanley knife.
