Once upon a time I was an IT contractor. My favourite client was The Rimrock Resort in Banff. Long commute, but I always got a free suite to stay in (often with a balcony) and had fun hanging out with the GM and the F&B Director. I emptied many bottles of Cakebread '97 Cabernet Sauvignon. Also eventually worked in Whistler and had a mind blowing evening at the Bearfoot Bistro... That evening was surreal.
Samsara can give us many enjoyable moments, but they're not lasting. Fortunately the hangovers weren't long lasting either.
I miss the Rockies. I really loved the mountain air and the way it all looked with a fresh snowfall, just after dawn.
The commute from YYC to YVR during the first few years following my monastic ordination saw me regularly commuting through the Rockies, during all seasons. I miss the commute. I really do love the Rockies.
I learned from every experience, every interaction. I bought the tee-shirt, wore the hell out of it and gave it away.
