@heiglandreas@phpc.social @mnapoli@phpc.social @asgrim@phpc.social @DaveLiddament@phpc.social @m1ke@phpc.social The phrase "You don’t have to like the game to play it." is just a mark of abandonment: you abandon yourself to the system, because the system is rigged in the first place, and you need it. I'm not saying that it's a form of individual weakness, but it's definitely a mark of weakness from people thinking the same relative to the power in place. If you re-read "1984" or "The Handmaid's Tale" again, you'll see we can fight while "collaborating".

@heiglandreas@phpc.social @mnapoli@phpc.social @asgrim@phpc.social @DaveLiddament@phpc.social @m1ke@phpc.social The French resistance was a small minority of people, and a lot of them were actually "in the system", trying to build change with smaller steps, with the few power they had. We're all engineers, building the web, and so far, the people that refuse to join the AI hype are a tiny niche amount of people, and like you say @mnapoli@phpc.social : "it's either this or changing jobs". And I know some people that changed jobs, and left tech, because too hard.

@pierstoval@mastodon.social @heiglandreas@phpc.social @asgrim@phpc.social @DaveLiddament@phpc.social @m1ke@phpc.social we live in a capitalist world, you don’t seem to like it either, yet you play the game in so many ways, right? I don’t think it’s as black and white as you make it.
