@nautilus@kill-corporations.enterprises @skinnylatte@hachyderm.io This becomes really obvious when someone from the more science end of a subject like computer science ends up doing some work that ends up being closer to the humanities end. They suddenly realise that user studies are actually hard to design to control for all of the sources of bias. Or, more commonly, they don’t and just produce nonsense and then apply the wrong statistics and send it to a venue that doesn’t normally do much human-factors work and so no one notices the gross errors in methodology.
