homelab and self hosting arent always “exactly” the sane thing. lab implies testing and experimentation. its purpose is to learn. but i think you are really asking about self hosing so…
first, ypu seemed to focus on media streaming in your post. to adress tgat one point, i have an entire family watching on phones and tvs (mostly tvs). i have jellyseer setup so they can even request.
BUT… that’s only one part. i have a minipc running opnsense. i have another on running proxmox.
on that proxmox,
jellyfin, with radarr, sonarr, jellyseer, and gluetun
home assisstant os
unifi os to manage my network.
soon i sm adding unifi cameras with protect so i can get off blink.
