I think it's fair enough to subsidise official events. But if they're subsidising mid week after work drinks then someone needs to write a strongly worded letter to their MP!

We're subsidising mid-day during-work drinks. This is what Hannah Spencer is talking about - people are showing up to debates and votes three sheets to the wind. Heck, I remember seeing [Michael Gove barely able to keep himself upright](https://evolvepolitics.com/watch-michael-gove-accused-of-being-drunk-or-on-drugs-as-he-sways-and-stumbles-during-crucial-commons-debate/) during the Brexit debates. This is far from the only time he's been seen like this though, and he's by no means the only one.
