i've just identified a seemingly-random (it's too difficult to explain the internal thought processes that led to this) "tech" skill that i'm missing, which i would like to try and learn and publicly document the process
i'm going to try to learn some of the "input and physics handling" works in "more retro" games that don't just rely on a Game Engine™️ (e.g. by looking at various game decomps)
i am vaguely attempting to glean something that can maybe generalize to UX, interaction design, and engineering a convincing experience
i never came across this before because it's not """hard""" the way graph theory or physics or multivariable calculus are "hard", plus the usual "azn parent + techbro" elitism

*sigh*, just ran into a bug where one of the minecraft modding frameworks blows up if you try to run from an "external" filesystem that requires AppleDouble files
