@spiegelmama@infosec.exchange That's a really interesting note. I never learned to play guitar, and I admittedly focus on the singer's voice, the lyrics, and the drums in most of the rock/punk/metal/post-hardcore I listen to. Like... 1:48-2:10 of this one (https://youtu.be/COmN6NjYBwE?si=L29_LCoiSS3kFEXb&t=108) makes me levitate. That double kick pedal is sooo crucial Do you have any other songs where you can hear that "voice" in the guitar? I wanna see if I can hear it too

  • @NaClKnight@c.im I'll listen to more of this artist for sure, but for me the classic example is Brian May. Nobody else has that sort of rounded, friendly? sound. I feel in love with him just based on that sound. Another good example is Eddie Van Halen. Sure, you can expect that the speedy, clean tone on Van Halen tracks is Eddie, but on Michael Jackson's "Beat It"? Hell yeah. Two notes in. I can't find the voice for every guitarist, though. I'll never know if that's an Eric Clapton solo, for instance. It doesn't always mean they're bad, it just means that they don't speak to me, i guess.
