📰 Protection for the “Butterfly Forest” 🌍 Mozambique: Increased protection for Mount Mabu, often called the “butterfly forest,” is helping secure habitat for rare species and one of Africa’s most remarkable biodiversity hotspots. 🦋 Forest protection preserves not only wildlife but also watershed functions, carbon storage, and ecosystem resilience. 🤝 Safeguarding intact habitats is frequently the most cost-effective conservation strategy because it avoids the need for expensive future restoration. 🔗 https://mongabay.org/programs/reporting-desks/wildlife-desk/ #WildlifeWednesday #Biodiversity #Conservation #ForestConservation #WildlifeConservation #Environment
