Software developers — We have resumes showing how we can navigate between domains, frameworks and languages — we have written recommendations praising our technical and interpersonal skills — some of us even have portfolios and public facing work examples and volunteer time on open source projects. Why are we the only group of workers that needs to take a whiteboard exam or do intensive homework in order to prove our skills during interview processes?
