It seems that every major programming language has a "hundred-liner gap". What does that mean? - If you need a <5 line piece of code, it's either built in to a native library or easy enough to copy from StackOverflow. - If you need a 4000 line library to manage web requests or encryption, there's a package for that. - If you need 100 lines of code that handle the edge cases and safety checks for the 5 line code, you are SOL. I have had this problem for years with Python and Shutil.move. The "market" for 100 line code is served by the 5 liners, obscuring the rare edge cases where everything goes wrong.
