To give a feeling about the kind of D&D group I'm part of, this is a formula that appears in our house rules: T = \left\lceil 8\, \frac{r}{5}\,\frac{10}{1 \vee (R-r)\wedge 10}\right\rceil and we actually used it yesterday.
