@millihertz I mean, if your OS has to boot on a machine with 32kb of RAM, it feels like a reasonable design decision to be able to jettison the code that loads >64kb programs when you're not in "program launching" mode

@SpindleyQ true, but i think it's more "this was an afterthought" - MSDOS 0.9 didn't support .EXE files at all
