@falken@falkensweb.ecom it fascinates me how easily people can 'talk' without a common language. In Turkey we had no common words as these were all locals who had no regular contact with tourists.
I once travelled for hours on a bus in India w families and no other tourists. They had no English, I had none of their dialect, yet there was so much chat between us. It was weird and wonderful. Waving, pointing, facial expressions and gestures. Who knows if we each understood the other, but it was lovely.

@happyborg@fosstodon.org @jonny@neuromatch.social my wife was handed a baby when we were in a crowded collectevo (?) as the mom loaded on her groceries- left the child there until mom got off- great faces, giggles and games were had by wife and baby.
