Gender is such a strange thing. On the one hand, I’m completely a binary woman. It’s where I feel at home.
But on the other? What the fuck is a binary woman? Am I a binary woman because I like dressing femme and arranging flowers and chatting for hours with other women? Am I a binary woman because I like women’s sports?
Does it make me non-binary because I don’t want to have a traditional heteronormative relationship with a man? Or stay quiet and submissive and perform my gender role?
I don’t claim to be non-binary. The label doesn’t fit. I don’t want to take a little gender from here and a little gender from there. I want it all from the girl side.
But also, what even is ON the girl side to take?
So it’s kind of a contradiction. I want the world to see me as a woman, because I am, but what the hell does that even mean?

@sophiesometimes@anarres.family If i start thinking about gender too much it feels like holding a handful of spaghetti. Because once you start dividing things into boy things and gorl things, you start to realize that those distinctions mean nothing.
