@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk I can't speak to this particular article, but it does strike me that the rot of democracy is best seen as a whole society issue. We can blame the people mongerers until Kingdom comes, and I know I do, but they work with what is there already. The lack of resistance to being mongered, the hunger to mobilize for a saviour, is what equally makes the thief. The success of neoliberalism, such as it is, made the field ripe for it. It destroyed the public good for "growth".
