The number one issue for voters is almost always the economy; specifically, their ability to keep their families housed, fed and healthy, something that was becoming harder and harder, even before the Republicans gutted what little social safety net had existed prior to Trump 2.0. And one way of addressing this, though I’m not holding my breath, would be to campaign for a Universal Basic Income (UBI).
