I especially like how it changes the shape of the raster to adjust the image geometry.
It's also one of those things that makes me wonder what would it look like if the technology continued being developed. Like, with modern electronics, it could have a camera looking at the screen and motorized optics to automatically adjust most of those settings that make it so annoying to set up. Maybe materials science has advanced enough to invent CRT phosphors that don't wear out as quickly, but I'm not sure about that one.
