In a 1945 speech to the House of Commons, Winston Churchill argued that while capitalism is the unequal distribution of wealth, socialism is the equal distribution of poverty.
There's no longer any need for a debate on this point. If someone repeats it, simply look them in the eye and tell them you'd prefer poverty to the mass extinction of all vertebrate life on Earth.

@ApostateEnglishman@mastodon.world If everyone is poor, nobody is poor. You can only be poor compared to those who are rich. So, he's saying, "either we have rich people or we don't." We've tried having rich people for a long time. How about if we try the other way for a while?
