@QasimRashid@mastodon.social This proposal's purpose is brazenly to get Trump and his MAGAt party past the November election without having to cancel it outright. Without it, Trump and the GOP face a near-guaranteed wipeout in November. While at most 1/3ed of the Senate changes hands (not enough to remove Trump after impeacement), another impeachment vote in the House will be probable along with a hornet's nest of investigations that will hang out much GOP dirty laundry to dry in public. What will NOT happen in that case is a robust Epstein investigation as that one is bipartisan.
