On this day 34 years ago, I registered the omnigroup.com domain. It was the day NeXT launched NeXTSTEP 3.0, taking advantage of their new 33MHz "Turbo" workstations. In 1992, like today, Sept. 8 was the first workday following Labor Day weekend. Happy birthday, @OmniGroup@mastodon.omnigroup.com! Here's the original logo used by Omni from 1992 until our Aqua redesign in 2001. I created this on a NeXT using RenderMan with a hand-written text RIB source file, back when 3D renderings of marble carvings were still novel.
