Think of it like an asset like say a painting (but obviously with no historical or aesthetic merit whatsoever) - if somebody wants to pay a lot of money for it, that's up to them. The 'value' is whatever they think it is.

@GeofCox@climatejustice.social @markmason@mas.to but you end up with a painting? banks exchanging crypto for cold hard cash isn't exactly overpaying for a worthless object but i concede i will not affect their economic decisions by not understanding their lack of common sense and logic. thanks for the original posts, made me think :) and now i think crypto entering the canal is more like industrial effluent than acid rain
