@NMBA@mstdn.ca The #NationalPost has never posed as a neutral source of news. It was created to offer a #conservative perspective on Canadian affairs, and so it naturally endorses conservative parties. See https://www.readthemaple.com/election-endorsements/ If you disagree with conservative ideas in general, that might be frustrating, but I think we come closer to the truth when opposing opinions debate. (And, while I don't object to newspaper proprietors setting the editorial line, they should have printed @acoyne@newsie.social 's column.)

@mpjgregoire@cosocial.ca @acoyne@newsie.social The edmonton journal used to have a two page editorial section where they published a conservative and a liberal/not con article about a topic. The news is not supposed to be biased, so both editorial bias and especially front page ads aren't journalism. Coyne is RW biased, but still had the journalistic integrity to jump when his employer ditched journalistic principles and became tabloid propaganda. Senator Simons also has outlined how yankee ownership of postmedia turned it into a propaganda outlet. My eyes aren't clouded, I have no political alliance (no memberships), but these days the NDP are the only party with integrity and a commitment to democracy so I strongly support them.
