@koalie@mastodon.social what a coincidence. I found my beloved Samsung YP-U3 while sorting stuff last Tuesday and thought I could start using it again. Unfortunately, I think the battery needs to be replaced. I charged it for 24hrs and it still won’t turn on. Now I’m wondering whether it’s worth trying to fix it. 😕

@afranke@mamot.fr ow, sorry to hear that your joy turned into frustration! My iPod battery seems fine and it has a playlist that I can play. I tried to mount the device and explore but all I could see was a “notes” folder with the entire documentation of StyleMaster, a wysiwyg CSS editor from Australia that I really liked in the early 2000s (discontinued since then), a “contacts” folder, but the bit that mounts the device as a music player could not load any content.
