@futurshox@squawk.mytransponder.com - having a working sundial in your garden would be cool. Having a nonfunctional one would be... kinda silly.

@johncarlosbaez@mathstodon.xyz Yeah; but most people just don’t know. They see them in a garden center and think “hey that would be nice in my yard” and the thing is set up for who-knows-what latitude. I found a home shop in Austin once importing (admittedly very nice) ones from the UK: they were all set for 52° and Austin is 30°… I emailed the shop, and they disappeared after that ;-)
