I weeded out my Willamette Valley wetland native plant bed this weekend. some of the stuff a friend from the makerspace and I started from seed are taking up nicely :3 yarrow, sagewort, checkermallow, Oregon sunshine.... I'm gonna directly cold stratify a bunch more stuff out here once it starts raining. the lupine and camas I tried to grow from seed didn't take too well, unfortunately. this area in my yard is an extension of the wetlands my house backs up to, on the other side of my fence is a bunch of 200ft oak and ash trees with little tufts of wetland grasses, but I'm seeding my side with a bunch of wetland native plants and if it takes off I'll kill a bit more of the grass every year. I have a few raised beds for herbs that I need to finish up, my seed starts did not do so well..... growing from seeds is so difficult! #florespondence #gardening #nativeplants
