Ir seems to be a call back to that time a tumblr user frustrated about Automattic’s insufficient moderation of transphobic harassment stated they hoped he “dies a forever painful death involving a car covered in hammers that explodes more than a few times and hammers go flying everywhere”, which really doesn’t sound like a serious threat to me. I do think there is nuance between this and hoping for a violent death, but I’m not gonna die on either hill. Personally, I just hope he (and every other parasitic dickhead) stops being a CEO.
