My family moved to South Jersey shortly after I was born, and I spent my childhood there. We were the only Filipino family for miles around. But, on the rare occasions that we would attend parties with other Filipino families far away, once the hour got late, and the men got drunk, the guitars would come out, and someone would sing "Dahil sa Iyo".
