@evilpeacock@mastodon.world Thanks! :) The choice is partly to trick myself into persisting through it – I get easily discouraged with full-on manual graphic design because I have so little patience for it. For coding on the other hand I have an almost unreasonable level of patience, so this helps me to stick with the problem until I get somewhere. The last bits I can then easily do with inkscape/krita again – as soon as I feel confident about the outcome. :D (That said I of course also like the possibilities of a procedural approach for its own sake, and also hope to eventually overcome my bad mental discipline for purely manual design work :))

@freebliss@post.lurk.org I've been an artist/graphic designer most of my life in the traditional sense, but I do love to use generative code-based tools and keep wanting to to that more — it leads to different outcomes than I might get otherwise. I'm not talking about gen AI — which isn't very useful for me for many reasons in addition to ethics, etc. Procedural is definitely useful and I'm all-over-that from years of commercial fast-turn design work. Everyone's different 'tho, do what works for you!
