I think the philosophy is that el-Sayed would be weakest with normie establishment moderates, so bringing Harris in to say she’s excited about his candidacy shores up that group.

It's what he's paid to do, and the quicker Democrats and "progressives" get it through their thick skulls that neither the Democrats nor the DSA are friends, but meant to maintain the least preferable, but still well-within-acceptable-bounds of predatory fascism capitalism, the better.
