@dyckron@cosocial.ca Alberta has a disctinct society: OIL. And with plans to end oil, they would very much want to become independant so they dont have to adopt any climate related regulations and drill like the USA. Consider how seriously Carney took it: he sabotaged his own climate fighting philosophgy to please Alberta and try to defuse separatist sentiments. Had Canada insisted Albert change direction and ween itself from fossil fuels you'd see much stronger separation sentiments.
