But here is the crux of the issue. This whole book contains ONE pattern spread over 4 pages. It's the super faint text because they didn't change the color before printing in monochrome. It's also surrounded bye "markdown CopyEdit", I've never used ChatGPT/any-LLM but I'm guessing this is a copy paste error from the prompt. I think they stole a pattern from someone and then generated a book around it. The rest of the ENTIRE BOOK after this just just waffling on nonsense.

@TechTangents@dialup.space Having worked in print, that is complete and utter garbage! I agree that amazon has caused so much trash to be considered as "books" with their publishing platform. Maybe there were good intentions early on, but that has long gone by the wayside.

@TechTangents@dialup.space The kerning issues are because the PDF it's printed from in their "print-on-demand" system uses a typeface that isn't on whatever system did the printing, and the typeface wasn't embedded, so the RIP substituted a default typeface (Times Roman, from the look of it) that doesn't match the letter shapes.
