Reliance on artificial-intelligence tools degrades the abilities of physicians and software engineers. @mustapipa@scicomm.xyz how about putting some of the world's top computer touchers in cryostasis and unfreeze them once it's time to rebuild from the smoking ashes?

@mustapipa@scicomm.xyz I'm seeing this in areas where quick analysis of anomalous things is important. Yeah AI can sort-match super fast but as a human you need to develop that skill too and you never will if you let AI every time. I tell my students it's like calculators - they are very useful but you still need to be able to do quick math in your head and know your times tables at a glance or you waste time looking stuff up constantly.
