Thank you, @costeer@mastodon.de. Germany is more divided than unified, and the fact you @Tutanota@mastodon.social describe something you call a “reunification” as a “victory over” something shows what it was truly about.
Given the mass surveillance you rightfully criticize today, I don't think we had a victory over anything.

@ErikUden@mastodon.de @costeer@mastodon.de You are absolutely right, there are more aspects to this topic and the blog post is not balanced enough. What we wanted to achieve is get the message across that surveillance still needs to be fought, even more now with Chat Control looming. But you are also right that surveillance also happened in the West, the consequences were just more visible in the East of Germany.
